Quarterly Sign Ups

At Calvary we do not lock our volunteers into long term commitments. We know that schedules change throughout the year, and sometimes people just need a break. That is why we only ask our volunteers to commit to three months at a time. At the end of the three months they can choose to take a break, or continue serving for another quarter.

Our quarters are
Spring(March to May)
Summer(June to August)
Fall(September To November)
Winter(December to February)
We start signing up volunteers about a month before the new quarter begins. We offer a training session for our volunteers, and provide everything needed to run the classes. We even have a room with refreshments for our volunteers to hang out in before and after class.

Opportunities To Serve
Nursery Our nursery provides care for 0 to 23 month old children. These littlest of our lambs require very special care, and that is what we provide.

Age groups are:
0-6 Months
7-9 Months
10-12 Months
12-18 Months
19-23 Months
Teachers Our Children's Ministry teachers are responsible for facilitating the sunday school classes. They prepare the lesson, crafts, songs, snacks and other items needed to make the class run smoothly. Calvary provides everything necessary to prepare for the class, all you need to bring is your heart and time. Teachers are assigned helpers that will assist in the preparation and facilitation of the class. All classes must have both a helper and a teacher. Many couples team in this ministry together.We limit the number of children per class to keep our teachers from being overwhelmed and to make sure our children are getting plenty of attention.

Age groups for Children's Ministry are:
Younger 2s(2-2 1/2)
Older 2s(2 1//2 up)
3 Year Olds
4 Year Olds
5 Year olds
6 Year Olds(not yet in 1st Grade)
1st Graders
2nd Graders
3rd Graders
4th Graders
5th Graders
6th Graders
Helpers Helpers are responsible for, you get it, helping. Each class will have both a teacher and a helper. The helpers assist the teacher in preparing for the class, checking the kids into class, various tasks during class such as(crafts, bathroom breaks, getting to the playground, etc...). The helpers often will take over for the teacher if the teacher is not available for some reason during an assigned service, though this is not required. If you want to help in Children's Ministry, but don't feel up to teaching, this may be the position for you. Age groups are the same as above.
Worship Leaders Our 1st - 6th Graders meet together in corporate worship at the beginning of each service. If you are experienced in leading worship, this may be a great opportunity for you to serve the little lambs at Calvary. Our Children's Ministry worship leaders love to sing to and worship our Lord Jesus with songs that kids can get in to.
Hall Monitors At Calvary the children's safety is one of our major focuses. We have multiple hall monitors stationed throughout our Children's Ministry Facility and Nursery. A hall monitor's responsibilties include: watching the halls during service for any suspicious activity, accompanying teachers and helpers when a child needs to use the restroom, answering questions and directing members and visitors to appropriate rooms.
Greeters Our new, state of the art Children's Ministry Facility is a big place with many different rooms to suit our many different age groups. Because of this we have greeters stationed at each entrance to answer questions and direct people to the appropriate sign in/pickup area for their children.
Special Needs Companions We provide companionship for children who need a little extra help being able to stay in a Sunday school class with their friends. We are looking for helpers who have little to no experience and helpers that may have experience handling some very busy boys and girls. Some of our children only need a little verbal reminder and encouragement to stay on task; others may require a little more hands-on redirection. Each child is paired with a teen-aged or adult companion for the length of the service. The companion and child are paired according to the child’s need and the helper’s comfort and experience level.
