Question / Issue

I was told by a friend that calvary churches believe that we dont have free will we are all destined to heaven or hell that if a baby dies he or she would possiably be sent to hell if that is there destiny is this really what you believe?

Answer / Solution

Calvary Chapel believes the exact opposite of what your friend told you.

God DOES NOT destine anyone for hell; while He does have knowledge of ALL things, including who will and who will not choose salvation in His Son Jesus Christ, this DOES NOT constitute a pre-destined fate by God's Will. The Bible clearly teaches that God's Will is "that none should perish, but all come to eternal life." The fact that God extends free will to those who could inherit salvation is a testimony to His goodness and sovereignty.

Concerning children, we believe that God covers children who die before the age of accountability with His grace and therefore His salvation; however, the age of accountability is not something that any human can fathom.
