Question / Issue
if a man divorces his wife after he commits adultery and subsequently marries and divorces another....may he remarry the first wife or must he wait until if and when the second wife remarries? The first wife has not remarried.

Answer / Solution

I wouldn't want to marry a guy like this.  You see the pattern, right?  God's plan is that marriage is for life, --it's not a game of who commits adultery so they can get free to get married again and repeat the cycle over and over.  Frankly, this person needs to seriously consider what it is that goes wrong each time and not jump into any relationship until they do.  They need to stay out of other people's beds.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 says: "God wants you to be holy, so you should keep clear of all sexual sin. 4 Then each of you will control your body and live in holiness and honor-- 5 not in lustful passion as the pagans do, in their ignorance of God and his ways. 6 Never cheat a Christian brother in this matter by taking his wife, for the Lord avenges all such sins, as we have solemnly warned you before. 7 God has called us to be holy, not to live impure lives. 8 Anyone who refuses to live by these rules is not disobeying human rules but is rejecting God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you."  NLT
