Question / Issue
Is there Scripture in the New Testament about tithing?
Answer / Solution
Pastor Mark has several tapes/cds that you should get ahold of that talk about New Testament giving. Go to Calvary's Resource Ministry: SM351, NU005, 1CR 381-382. Tithing in the Old Testament was actually about 30% of one's income. The New Testament teaches that ALL our income is the Lord's and we should give to the Lord in grateful thanks for all that He has done for us. Most Christians see the 10% tithe as a guide and as a target, but not as the maximum, --after all, --that is a low figure for even Old Covenant giving (considering they gave 30%). Listen to Pastor Mark's tapes, --you'll be blessed. Jesus said, "If you give, you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving--large or small--it will be used to measure what is given back to you." Luke 6:38 NLT
