Question / Issue
Can a person be genetically predisposed to alcholism?

Answer / Solution
Yes, many people are predisposed to alcoholism. But that doesn't mean it's "not their fault", nor does it mean that alcohol use is "safe" for other people. Anyone can become an alcoholic, and there are many hazards for both the individual and the family associated with 'regular' drinking, even before a person becomes an alcoholic.
