If we live our lives without knowing God then life would seem to be meaningless because we have no purpose or hope.

When we know Christ in a personal and intimate way, our lives take on meaning and purpose. I think of how many people try to find fulfillment in materials things, sex, drugs or relationships with others. The only one who can fill the God shaped vacuum in our heart is God Himself. Lam 3:22-25

22 The LORD'S  lovingkindnesses indeed never cease,
 For His compassions never fail.
