Question / Issue
What is "slaying the spirit" and does it fit with what is tought at our church from the bible?

Answer / Solution
Being "slain in the Spirit" is an experience practiced among some charismatic and Pentecostal churches. Typically, a minister will touch or pray for another person and that person will fall down. It is claimed this happens "under the power of the Holy Spirit".

We do not advocate anyone to seek this experience, nor do we practice it at Calvary because there is no record of this being done among believers in the New Testament.
