Question / Issue
I want to become a pastor at Calvary someday I want to enroll in Phoenix Seminary in the Master of Divinity program. Will this help me meet the requirements of becoming a pastor at Calvary?

Answer / Solution

The way pastors at Calvary Community Church have become "full time staff" is that they were called by God, that call was recognized by the elders, and their giftings fit the needs of the church.

Here are some things current pastors at
Calvary have done in preparation for ministring at Calvary.

  1. Submit to spiritual authority. Be a member of the church in good standing.
  2. Serve in an existing ministry at Calvary.
  3. Make their desire known to others in their life so they can be praying with them in regards to God’s call for their life.
  4. Know God more fully.  More than anything else, they have a solid and powerful walk with the Lord before doing the work of a pastor.  Reliance on Him is the greatest skill required for the job!
  5. Wait as long as it takes for God to lift them up.  Just “show up and pay attention” to God’s work while they serve His church faithfully.
