Question / Issue
We will soon be visiting a relative. He wants to go to a casino and gamble. I have played the slot machines before- I allow a limit of $20 for myself and when it is gone I quit. If I win it back or win more I quit. Is this sinful?

Answer / Solution
Luke 19, Proverbs, and other references speak of being a wise steward of what God has given you.  Isaiah 55:2 says "Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? "  Gambling is a waste plus it funds criminal activity and sinful behavior.  Therefore a Christian should not gamble.  There are other ways to be entertained and other ways to make money that don't fund sin and crime. Gambling has destroyed far more lives than it has ever helped.

It's not just the gambling that's in question here, but the funding of casinos and other businesses associated with it which also actively promote drinking, partying and sexual exploitation. 1 Cor 6:12
says, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable".
