Question / Issue
Do we know who wrote the Apostles' Creed that Rich Mullins put into song, or the background of the creed?

Answer / Solution

The Apostes' Creed cannot be traced to a single author. A version of it may have been circulated very early in church history, but the present form cannot be dated any earlier than the fifth century. It is called the Apostes' Creed because it embodies the teaching of the Apostles, not because they actually wrote it.
