| Why doesn't Calvary fly an American flag? |

| We don't fly the American flag for several reasons, none of which are that we aren't patriotic or respectful. First of all, our flagpole isn't lighted and we don't want to have to take our flag down at night (you have to do that with the American flag). Also, we definately want to fly the Christian flag; if we also had the American flag, protocol dictates that it be flown above any other. That makes us choose between disregarding protocol or making the statement that country comes before God. Not wanting to do either of those things, we decided the best course would be to fly just the Christian flag. We do change to the American flag for special holidays and whenever it needs to be at half-mast. |
