Question / Issue

Do angels and demons have acutal battles? If so, then they would have generals and such and might die, right? These questions are in reference to a book that I was reading by Frank Perretti, "This Present Darkness".

Answer / Solution

Angels are immortal creatures and therefore can't die. Perretti's book is a novel but there are battles going on around us for sure.

Angels are spoken of as of having different ranks in dignity and power (Zech 1:9,11; Dan 10:13; 12:1; 1 Thess 4:16; Jude 9; Eph 1:21, 6:12; Col 1:16).

They appear to do battle, as pictured in Daniel 10.This is where an angel is detained by the King of Persia, a fallen angel who is over Persia, for twenty-one days. Michael the archangel
