Question / Issue
Do angels and demons have acutal battles? If so, then they would have generals and such and might die, right? These questions are in reference to a book that I was reading by Frank Perretti, "This Present Darkness".

Answer / Solution

Angels are immortal creatures and therefore can't die. Perretti's book is a novel but there are battles going on around us for sure.

Angels are spoken of as of having different ranks in dignity and power
(Zech 1:9,11; Dan
10:13; 12:1; 1 Thess 4:16; Jude 9; Eph 1:21, 6:12; Col 1:16).

They appear to do battle, as pictured in Daniel 10.This is where an angel is detained by the King of Persia, a fallen angel who is over
Persia, for twenty-one days. Michael the archangel

Daniel 10

12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.
13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of
Persia.

Great question!
