Question / Issue
Are we considered mammals? Or is that an evolutionary term to confuse some people?

Answer / Solution

All mammals share three characteristics not found in other animals:  3 middle ear bones, hair, and the production of milk by modified sweat glands called mammary glands.  That is the criteria for being considered a mammal.  Humans do possess these characteristics, however, I would not consider humans to be animals.

According to the Bible, man was made in God's image and  was given rule over all the creatures of the earth (Genesis 1:26-31).  Although we possess some of the same characteristics of mammals, that does not mean we have evolved from animals.   For more information, click on the link below and go to the Creationism section.
