Jonathan's Bio

I was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe while my Malawian parents attended Solusi College. I spent the next eight years of my life living in various parts of Southern Africa where my father served as a pastor and Bible teacher. A little after my 8th birthday, my family relocated to Berrien Springs, Michigan, where my parents continued their education and careers working within a denomination.

During my senior year in high school I became aware of God’s grace and I was born again. Shortly thereafter, I felt a calling to ministry but, due to my religious upbringing, I could not harmonize the Gospel with the denomination’s distinctives. Therefore, I opted to do anything but become a minister.

Ten years later, while running a marketing business in Lincoln, Nebraska, I discovered the New Covenant through a former employee of mine. After carefully studying the Scriptures and reading the stories of people who had come out of a similar religious heritage as mine and entered into a relationship with Christ, the Gospel came to life. With this new understanding and leaving the denomination and its distinctives behind there is nothing else I can think of doing for the rest of my life but serve the Lord as a minister.

Currently, I am serving the body of Christ as an intern pastor at Calvary Community Church. As the Lord allows, I also travel throughout the country as a speaker for church, school and youth conferences. The driving force behind my ministry is a passion to see people’s lives transformed by the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.
