Calvary's Mission Philosophy
By definition, Church Missions is a sending out to seek the lost , proclaiming the Gospel of Christ. At Calvary we are committed to reaching the lost for Christ. We believe that Missions starts right outside our doors and goes around the world. We are careful to seek out the lost in our Jerusalem, Judea and the furthest parts of the earth.
At home we reach out with Radio, Tape, Street, Manna and Prison Ministries, along with Evangelism Explosion. Furthermore we meet people right where they are with various special and annual events. Our Teaching Radio ministry covers many parts of the United States and our Teaching Tape Ministry literally reaches all over the world.
It is our strong belief that the best way to reach people with the Gospel in foreign lands is to train up believers in those countries who can minister to their own. To accomplish this we support Mission Organizations and Missionaries that have that same goal.
Our Mission strategy comes full circle as we look to our own church. One of the marks of a healthy church is when people are being called by God to GO! We support and encourage that with Summer Missions, Mexico Outreaches and the sending of Full Time Missionaries.
We are a healthy church and yet there is much more to do until Jesus comes. So we are encouraged by the words of the Apostle Paul, one of the greatest missionaries, to do even more: "Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that, as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God (just as you actually do walk), that you may excel still more."
We look forward to those things ahead and press on that we might see "Thy Kingdom come." |
